We love to explore the full delicious spectrum of flavours specialty coffee has to offer, but we also know there’s a time and a place for a mug of something easy and familiar—that’s why we roast our Basecamp Coffee. It’s a single-origin fully traceable coffee, just like our other beans, but the flavour profile is always the same: nutty, chocolatey, mellow, sweet and full bodied. It’ll taste great brewed as a cafetiere or espresso, black or with milk. If you are new to specialty coffee and lighter roast profiles, then Basecamp is a great place to start your journey.

Our Basecamp coffee is only available in the great value 1kg size or as a subscription. If you want little and often you can get our Basecamp Subscription HEREAvailable as whole bean only.

Our current Basecamp selection:

Producer: Luan Pereira dos Santos
Region: Minas Gerais
Altitude: 1,100 - 1,300 masl
Varietal: Yellow Catuaí
Process: Natural

Our latest Basecamp bean has the hallmark flavour notes we look for in this coffee. Milk chocolate dominates and there is very little acidity or fruitiness and a lot of sweetness. This mellow profile is perfect for espresso coffees.

Like the previous three Basecamp lots before it, this coffee was grown in the magnificent Serra da Mantiqueira, an area famous in Brazil for producing specialty coffees.

The family farm, Alegria, is the Spanish word meaning “joy”. Luan Pereira dos Santos is a 20-year-old specialty coffee producer, and runs the farm with his fiance Gabriela Cristy. Both Gabriela and Luan hail from families of coffee producers. Together with his three siblings, Luan is committed to honouring his family legacy and his deep love of coffee by continuously improving the quality and visibility of their beans.

Sitio Alegria is located in the picturesque town of Lambari, in Minas Gerais, a region renowned for its natural sparkling mineral waters. The farm benefits from an ideal climate and soil for growing high quality beans. The altitude, which ranges from 1,100 to 1,300 metres and is relatively high for a Brazilian coffee farm, contributes to the production of exceptional coffee. Generally, the higher the altitude the sweeter and more complex the coffee beans. Luan and Gabriela offer a wide variety of coffees, processed in different ways from natural to fermented and exotic, catering to a diverse range of palates.

If variety is the spice of your life, check out our Variety Pack HERE - all four of our current single origin coffees (250g of each), available as beans or ground for £44.
