Bursting with complex berry flavours, this is Ethiopian specialty coffee at its finest. It’s grown on Bale Mountain Farm, an isolated farm in West Arsi, north of Bale Mountains National Park. This farm is unique in that they are producing traceable micro-lots. Often Ethiopian coffee lots are mixtures of beans from several smallholder farmers, but this coffee is all grown and processed in one place meaning that quality can be controlled at every stage of harvest and processing.
This is one of two lots that we bought this year from producer Israel Degfa (through the importer Kamba Coffee). Degfa owns more than 20 washing stations in Guji, Southern Ethiopia. His coffee has been on the shelves of some of our favourite roasters, including Drop Coffee in Stockholm and Crankhouse Coffee in Devon. A standout Ethiopian lot, from the country where the crop originated and that today grows some of the world’s top coffees.
