This is another outstanding lot from Falcon Coffee’s Por el Cambio (For the Change) agronomy project in Northern Peru. Fredy Bermeo Guevara is from a coffee producing family and has been growing coffee for 15 years. He inherited the original 5 hectares of his farm, El Shimir, from his father and has since acquired plots from neighbouring landowners to more than double its size. Over the last decade Guevara has incrementally increased his focus on improving production and quality, not just at El Shimir, but on all of the family farms. This focus on quality led him to compete in the 2017 and 2018 Cup of Excellence competitions where he placed 3rd and 8th respectively.
In the cup this coffee has subtle prune notes and finishes with super smooth creamy malted chocolate. We’re loving this coffee. It's sweet and smooth and beautifully balanced.
