We’ve been waiting eagerly for the arrival of this Brazilian coffee, which is one of two larger seasonal lots we’ll buy to use specifically as single origin espresso. After being delayed by Hurricane Lorenzo, the coffee was whisked up to us in North Berwick and straight into the roaster, where we profiled it to highlight its sweetness and rich mouthfeel. It is a fantastic all-rounder with flavours of roasted nut, caramel, and brown sugar.
This is the first lot we’ve bought from producer Patricia Coelho, who recently took over her family’s farm. Coelho is a friend of Bruna Costa, the general manager of Kamba Coffees, who imports this coffee. Both women have a long family history in Brazlian coffee and are highly qualified specialty coffee professionals. Now that Coelho is running her own farm she faces the challenges that most women do when taking a lead position in Latin America. As a women-owned and run roastery we are thrilled to be able to sell this excellent female-produced and imported coffee.
