This is not your typical Brazilian coffee. It has the nuttiness and velvety body we’re used to from this origin, but the primary flavour in the cup is ripe fruit like nothing we’ve ever tasted. Ripe melon? Papaya? Definitely something tropical… We’re not exactly sure, but we’ve fallen hard for this coffee nonetheless! It’s the first lot we’ve gotten from a new importer we’re working with called Kamba Coffees who specialise in Brazilian and Ethiopian coffees. According to them, the farmer Carlos Urban takes special care to map varietals and pick selectively. He then dries the cherries for controlled periods on African-style raised beds. Urban’s impeccable harvesting techniques and the unique terroir of his farm yield a remarkable, intriguing cup.
