    Awesome coffee is at the heart of everything we do, but in the process of doing it we have grown a wonderful team of passionate and driven people. Steampunk Coffee is a diverse bunch of creative people, who all share a mutually obsessive love - coffee. Our collective passion brings together people of such different backgrounds, countries and fields of expertise but our passions also sometimes lead team members away too - to travel, to start their own businesses, to develop a career in another field ... For this reason we are almost always looking for somebody new to join us on our coffee journey. 

    We are currently looking for 3 new team members:

    Server

    Based at Steampunk Coffee, North Berwick
    Full time (30-40 hours/week) - to start immediately  £7.50/hour
    We are looking for a friendly and energetic person to join our busy team serving from our coffee bar. Whereas this job is not a coffee post we will offer full barista training over time to the right applicant who commits to working with us for a while.
    Job Description:
    Serving customers
    Till
    Carrying trays
    Clearing dishes and washing up
    Person Specification:
    Positive and outgoing
    Team Player
    Able to follow instruction
    Hard-working
    Locally based or has own transport
    Willing to commit to 12 months minimum
    Flexible regarding hours and days, must be able to work weekends

    Cook/Baker

    Based at Steampunk Coffee, North Berwick
    Full time (30-40 hours/week), including weekends to start immediately 
    £/hour depending on age and experience


    We source local and seasonal produce and make everything fresh from scratch in our kitchen upstairs in our cafe. An opportunity has now arisen for a friendly and energetic person to join our busy kitchen team. We can offer the right applicant an opportunity to develop their passion for baking and food and to develop their career within hospitality as part of a supportive and close knit team. This position would suit somebody with a background in hospitality or equally someone who has recently qualified from college and is seeking to gain experience in the field. 

    Essential: 
    Experience of working within the hospitality sector
    Passion for food
    Baking experience (professional or amateur) 
    Experience of food prep/ cooking in a commercial setting
    Reliable and organised 
    Good time keeping and able to work in a fast paced environment
    Able to work independently and use initiative
    Good team player and able to work under instruction
    Flexible over hours and with shift pattern, ability to work weekends essential

    Desirable: 
    Experience in a professional kitchen
    Food hygiene certification 
    Experience of stock control and ordering 
    Driving licence / own transport 
    This position would suit someone who is no longer in full-time education and who would be able to commit to working with us for a minimum of 12 months.

    Kitchen Assistant

    Based at Steampunk Coffee, North Berwick
    Part time (10 hours/week), one weekend day - to start immediately 
    £/hour dependent on age and experience

    We source local and seasonal produce and make everything fresh from scratch in our kitchen upstairs in our cafe. We are now seeking a dependable young person to join our busy team at weekends and to work as an assistant to the full time cook (one day per weekend). 

    You have: 
    Interest in food
    Reliability and good timekeeping
    Ability to work independently and use your initiative
    Ability to follow instruction and work as part of a team
    Flexible over hours and day - ability to work one day at the weekend is essential for this post

    We can offer you:
    Training in food prep and baking
    Hygiene training and certification
    Additional hours during school holidays

    This position would suit someone who is still in full-time education and is looking for weekend work term time, with the possibility of more work during the school holidays. You must be able to commit to working with us one day per week at weekends.
