We're so much more than just a coffee company!

Awesome coffee is at the centre of everything we do but we also have lots of fun doing it. Team Steam is the absolute heart of our business and we provide a buzzing atmosphere where self motivated people can really develop their careers in the industry.

We don't recruit people simply for barista posts, instead we take on folk with aptitude and the right attitude and we train them to work across different areas of the cafe based on their interest and experience.  This develops invaluable skills and gives a great opportunity for understanding how the business works as a whole.

We offer a friendly and beautiful workspace that is also incredibly busy. This means you learn fast and hone skills in months that would take years to develop in a slower work environment. We have generous working conditions with paid breaks and free lunches and of course awesome single origin coffees on tap. We have been recognised for the quality of both our food and coffee in publications such as Scotland the Best, Lonely Planet guide to Great Britain, The Observer, the Sunday Herald and are recommended in trade guides such as The Scottish Indie Coffee Guide and Scotland Coffee Lovers.

Foodies will be interested to know we make everything from scratch in our kitchen and we offer training in food prep, baking, kitchen organisation, ordering and stock management as well as recipe and menu development.

Coffee geeks will have opportunity to learn, develop and perfect barista skills working alongside experienced baristas and coffee roasters. Our team is not only knowledgeable but also generous with their knowledge helping to develop new team members. We do regular cuppings with our roasters helping you develop your sensory skills and palate.

There is always something new brewing at Steampunk and loads of opportunity to get involved at all levels. We have team members who have been with us for years as testament to our great work environment.

We are currently recruiting for 2 full time positions

Rate dependent on skills and experience.

    Full time (30-40 hours/week) -  starting May

Both of these positions require a friendly, customer focussed energetic person with a positive attitude and an exceptional work ethic. In exchange we offer competitive rates of pay, great benefits and working conditions and the chance to work in a friendly and supportive work environment.

Our coffee roastery is in house and as a result we offer fantastic opportunities to those interested in furthering their career in specialty coffee through regular cuppings and interaction with a range of coffee professionals.

We will offer full barista training to the right applicant who commits to working with us for a period of time and are also interested in applications from those with experience of working with specialty coffee.
